Dr. Schwartz received a B.A. in physics from Temple University.
He attended graduate school at the University of Delaware, obtaining
an M.A. with thesis in nuclear physics and the Ph.D. in 1977 in
Biophysics. He performed postdoctoral research involving Nuclear
Magnetic Resonance in the Biochemistry Department of Brandeis
University and the Biological and Medical Research Division of
Argonne National Laboratory. He joined the staff of the RPI chemistry
department in 1981 as an instrumentation specialist in the field
of NMR, and has become the Director of the department's Major
Instrumentation Center.
